First Few Days In The Land Down Under...

We arrived in Sydney on Tuesday, January 3rd after spending almost a full day in an aircraft (and loosing a day)... That was definetly well worth it, we walked outside and instantly were welcomed by sunshine and cars on the wrong side of the street (something i am still not, nor will probably ever get used to)!! We settled into the Sydney woman's college upon arrival and set off to King Street to find some food and check out the area... We ended up picking Dominos Pizza of all places because most everything else was closed for lunch on tuesdays...? None the less we had a great picnic in the courtyard and then enjoyed a wonderful shower and settled in. For dinner we went to a Thai food restaurant (one of MANY)!!!! Dinner was delicious and really wonderful! We sat outside and enjoyed the fresh, summer air and got to know each-other a little more. We woke up fairly early on the 4th and started a busy day! First we had a lecture by Professor Christopher Wright of the Sydney Business School where we discussed the Business of Managing Climate Change, which was very enlightening and interesting! I feel like the class helped get everyone on the same page when it comes to sustainability and business. From there we went to the Museum of Sydney where we immersed ourselves in the history of Sydney and the aboriginals and the british immigrants. We then ventured to the Sydney Aquarium where we saw lots of native fish and animal life of Australia... I noticed that this aquarium focused on the animals which are native to the country more than any other aqurium i had experienced before... My past experiences with aquariums have been ones of which are comprised of animals from all over the world; it was nice to be surrounded by animals from the area which we are studying alone. Tomorrow we will have another fun filled and educational day and i just cant wait to learn and experience much more about Australia!
