Peace out Cairns!

Last day in Cairns! I think this was my favorite part of the trip, I got to swim at the reef, throw a spear and a boomerang, pet a kangaroo a koala a wallaby and a crocodile, and today for our last day we went to Mossman Gorge and swam in the river! We rented a car in the morning and being the driver for the day, I can say that driving on the other side of the road is harder than it sounds, I have never been so focused while driving but it all worked out! We had more people than we could fit in the car so we sort of had to shuttle people back and forth everywhere all day but it was still an awesome day. We went to the river and swam in the freezing cold river. The funniest part of this experience was watching about 5 of us try and swim out to this rock in the middle of the river, almost everyone overestimated the current and overshot the rock but eventually made there way over to it. The water was freezing but it felt so good since its so extremely hot outside here. We hiked up a ways to try and find a waterfall but Zelynnes stitches in her knee couldn’t quite handle some of the steeper parts of the hike so we decided to turn around and go have some lunch. After lunch we went around and shopped in Port Douglas and found some great finds! I got two bathing suits two pairs of shoes and a sweet Gryffindor tank top for $30 aat ONE store! That pretty much made my day. After we were done shopping we went for a swim in the pool at the hostel and now we’re getting ready for our last group meeting before we leave. At the meeting we’re supposed to come up with some small pledge to sustainable living  to stick to for a while after we get home. I think mine is going to be to only buy organic foods if possible when shopping. We’ll see how that goes, but I’m going to try my best! Peace out Cairns, its been awesome:)
